Welcome to the European Rotaract Information Centre
A word from the President
Dear Fellow Rotaractors,
During my first five years as a member of Rotaract I worked a lot, participating in
all activities of my club, learning from older Rotaractors and Rotarians. I was
managing all I was asked to manage, readily accepting all the obligations I was
given. After five years Rotaract rewarded me for what I gave. After organising a
project where I collected 15.000 euros for purchasing wheelchairs for basketball
players in Serbia an opportunity opened – I became International Wheelchair
Basketball Referee, later member of an Executive Board of International
Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
This is why I choose ERIC theme for this year: “The more you give, the more you
get”.
All of us are having two families: our own, precious that gives us strength to exist, and our Rotaract family. There are clubs,
districts, national boards, but it is not complete without our European friends. So be a good ambassador! Spread
information about events and activities that happen both in your country and in Europe and get involved into Board’s
activities – there’s many great ideas to implement together! And above all, open eyes of Rotaractors in your countries to an
exciting European Rotaracting, to a network of almost 100 districts in almost 50 countries.
This, new family, is what you can give to your fellow Rotaractors.
Good luck and welcome to ERIC!

Infinite Energy Foundation powered by ERIC
Dear Rotaractors,
At the beginning of the Rotaract year 2010-2011 a new theme is launched amongst the European Rotaract Clubs: Energy and Ecology, since access to natural resources and controlling global warming will be the biggest challenge our generation will face.
It is a very important issue for Rotaract given that it influences each of us and especially because each individual can have a significant impact. The responsible use of natural resources and avoidance of the waste of energy is the most powerful weapon against global warming, far more effective than any technology and this is in our hands. Therefore several European Rotaract Clubs have created a platform:
INFINITE ENERGY FOUNDATION POWERED BY ERIC
open to all clubs who want to join. Main goal is to create awareness for the responsible use of natural resources in our daily lives and to join forces to attract important sponsors and support projects in the field of energy poverty and ecology.
ERIC is supporting the initiative and will hand out an Ecology Award at this year’s EUCO to the club most active on the ecology theme. Eligibility criteria will be published later.
Moreover ERIC strongly suggests that each country organizes an ECO Driving Day event. Main goal is to create a fun day, where Rotaractors can learn from a professional instructor how to drive ecologically. It is a known fact that the driver has more impact than the exhaust technology. This course can be combined with an extreme car handling or skid course and after party to make it even more fun.
Therefore please start creating awareness for the issue and if you are interested join the platform, organize events and compete for the ecology award. Always feel free to contact us for extra information.
Together we can change the future,

Dear Rotaractors,
Welcome to Belgrade!
Let us start by saying that we are very honored to have the chance to be your hosts for 4 days, here in Belgrade!
As you all know, Rotaract clubs gathers young people from all over the world to bring peace, worldwide understanding and provide help to every one who needs it. Within our clubs, we make friends, meet successful young people and have the opportunity to make changes in our community. REM (Rotaract European Meeting) is our chance to make international friends, make positive personal changes while interacting with young people from different countries and which is most important – promote good relations between people all over the world.
We will give our best to make it possible for you to have an extraordinary experience here in Belgrade, with many people who are different yet, who have things in common, and to see a city whose inhabitants are more than eager to have fun and meet you all!
Come to Belgrade and experience the extraordinary!
