· Community Service
· Leadership Development
· Professional Development
· International service
Rotaract is an international organisation founded by Rotary International in 1968 aimed at young people aged 18 to 30. Rotaract enables and supports its members (known as Rotaractors) to grow both personally and professionally by providing a wide range of activities and opportunities.
There are more than 7,300 Rotaract Clubs with approximately 170,000 Rotaractors in over 150 countries; of this there are approximately 1254 chartered Rotaract clubs in Europe with membership of approximately 21,000 Rotaractors.
Rotaract clubs can be either community or university based and each Rotaract club is responsible for organising their own social and community programs. The programs range from a trip to the local pub to a holiday skiing, and from organising an international project to raise money for and building wells in Africa to a car wash in aid of the local football club. Rotaract clubs enable Rotaractors to address community needs, enhance member’s professional skills and promote international understanding through friendship and service while having lots of fun and making new friends!
Clubs usually meet every two weeks and feature speakers, discussions and visits to other clubs. Rotaractors also join together for service projects, social and cultural activities and leadership workshops.
Beyond the club level, Rotaractors can take the opportunity to attend conferences, to get involved in projects and to participate in training seminars on a local, national and international level.
Rotaract makes a real difference to the lives of our members and to the thousands of people our projects help.
