Rotaract Hearts to South Africa!

Project led by Rotaract Brussel Coudenberg

Rotaract Brussel Coudenberg (www.rotaractcoudenberg.be) presents its biggest social project ever:

“Rotaract Hearts to South Africa”

The idea is simple:

September 2010 - Different Rotaractors all over the world come together for a three week social project in South Africa.

During these 3 weeks, the different Rotaract Clubs develop a new children care village to cater for the orphans of Africa. It is important to involve a group of clubs – preferably 10 - and to let this group join hands and make this project theirs. The target is to setup an orphan’s house that is a real Rotaract Child Care Village. Supported by Rotary/Rotaract and build by Rotaractors.

It is also the intention to let this project create an opportunity for young Rotaractors and Rotarians to build goodwill and better friendship. The Clubs will do the work and the project will be started in September 2010. This is a "get dirty" project, hands on project.

Apart from that, we will also try to bridge the multimedia gap by setting up a computer class together with the Nelson Mandella fund to inform the people about aids.
Of course during these 3 weeks we will also have the opportunity to visit some important landmarks of South Africa.

This is going to be a life experience never to forget!

At this moment we are prepare the overall plan of the project. This will be finished by the end of October. Afterwards we will present this plan to all people that show interest in it. The selection of the Rotaract Clubs will start by the end of October and we involve a participation, preferably in joint venture with your local Rotary Sponsor club.
The selected Rotaract Clubs need to show their commitment to this project and need to show the long-term spirit and devotion.

At this moment we are in contact with the RYLA, Rotaract Representative and Youth Representative of Rotary District of 9250 that will help us in setting up and supporting the long term sustainability of the project. This district has a lot of experience in setting up this kind of project and their experience can guarantee the success
